Setting the Record Straight: Addressing Misinformation and Unfounded Accusations
Clearing the Air on Allegations of Misuse and Scams Within the Massachusetts Trump Campaign
In the tumultuous world of politics, it’s not uncommon for accusations and misinformation to swirl. As a dedicated volunteer for the Massachusetts Trump 2024 Campaign and a Massachusetts resident who is concerned about the Republican party in our state, I’ve found myself at the center of such controversies. I want to set the record straight and address two significant claims that have been made against me.
Addressing Chris Ryan's Accusations
Chris Ryan, the chairman of the WMA-GOP Patriot PAC and State Committee man is no longer a part of the Trump Campaign Team, has accused me of misusing campaign data for personal gain. On July 14th, he posted on Facebook alleging, “A senior member of their core leadership team is personally monetizing the campaign by harvesting what few emails they do have to recruit paid subscribers to their private Substack.” I want to make it unequivocally clear: I do not profit or use any data associated with the Trump Campaign. I am a volunteer, and my involvement is strictly professional and driven purely by my commitment to the cause.
If there’s any evidence of me using campaign data improperly, it has not been presented. In fact, if anyone is receiving emails from my Substack account without subscribing on their own, I would be the first to address it. On the other hand, we have received numerous complaints from Trump volunteers questioning why they are receiving emails from Chris Ryan’s WMA-GOP Patriots PAC. This raises concerns about whether his PAC is improperly using Trump campaign email data that were collected while he was a part of the Trump Campaign Team. Complaints about receiving unsolicited emails from his PAC suggest a troubling pattern of accusing others of actions one is guilty of oneself. My last conversation with Chris at the Northborough grand opening was amicable, and if there were personal grievances, they were never communicated to me directly. I even thanked him for all that he is doing in support of President Trump.
After the accusations were made, I ran into him at the recent MA State Committee meeting, Chris Ryan avoided eye contact with me, a behavior that reflects poorly on someone who publicly disparages others online. My choice to take the high road and avoid a confrontation was intended to maintain professionalism and focus on addressing issues discussed within the MassGOP meeting, which I am genuinely committed to help improve. Is Chris Ryan really a Trump supporter or is he just using Trump’s name for his own gain? He certainly does work hard to undermine the Trump campaign's efforts in Massachusetts with baseless accusations and divisive tactics.
Clarifying the MassGOP Donation Link Issue
The Boston Broadside sent out an email alleging that the MassGOP donation link setup for the Trump Campaign was a scam which was sent out in an email associated with my name. This accusation stemmed from a temporary issue with the link, which was quickly resolved. I want to clarify that the link in question is legitimate, and all 100% of donations made through it are used exclusively for the Trump Campaign.
It is particularly troubling that Boston Broadside, as a news outlet, did not take the time to verify the facts or conduct a proper investigation before publishing their allegations to their readers. Instead, they opted to present an opinion piece rather than responsible journalism. The lack of due diligence reflects poorly on their commitment to accurate reporting and undermines the credibility of their claims. Since Boston Broadside has not issued a retraction or correction for their false report about the donation link, I am compelled to address and correct the misinformation on their behalf.
I am not affiliated with the MassGOP in an official capacity, but I did discuss the need for a donation link to support our efforts in Massachusetts. Due to FEC regulations, our team of volunteers faced challenges in directly managing donations. The MassGOP generously stepped in to create and oversee this donation link and all the necessary FEC filings. We track all donations with transparency and ensure that every dollar goes directly to supporting the Trump campaign in Massachusetts.
Conclusion
Political involvement, especially in a state like Massachusetts where conservative voices are often in the minority, is fraught with challenges. The accusations against me are not only unfounded but also serve to distract from the real work we’re doing. As a volunteer, I am committed to the success of the Trump Campaign and to supporting conservative values within our state. I hope this piece clears up any misunderstandings and reaffirms my dedication to our shared goals on Trump’s plan to Make America Great Again.
As a MassGOP State Committee member, you'd expect more from Chris than these cheap character attacks. It's time someone calls him out. For a supposed veteran, he sure shows a lot of cowardice, unwilling to even face the people he undermines with baseless accusations. His actions make it clear: he's not serving anyone but himself, wrapped in a bow of hypocrisy. The Mass Campaign for Trump team, led by Tom Hodgson, has worked tirelessly, and it's a shame that opportunists like Chris Ryan are undercutting their efforts. I'm glad he's finally being held accountable.
It sure doesn't look good when you bring to everyone's view what's going on behind the scenes. We're supposed to come together for Trump. Not cause problems. You may not be affiliated with the GOP Mr. Tam, but you are acting like them. Doug Limon from the Western Mass GOP Patriots is he only one in charge of emails. I know this for a fact. So you might want to get your story straight. Mr Ryan has no access to the emails or what is sent out. It is Douglas Lyman
